As AAPIs, many of us are all too familiar with facing the threat of violence when expressing our political opinions. For countless members of our community, the freedom to express those opinions no matter what is why we immigrated to the United States of America.

The events of today are a horrifying reminder of the dangers of political polarization. Such acts of violence can not be justified in any capacity.

That is why we, the AAPI Caucus of the North Carolina Democratic Party, firmly condemn all acts of political violence, no matter one’s political affiliation.
